Selective Licensing in the London Borough of Newham.

We are been told that selective licensing in Newham is a great sucess. Are there any landlord from Newham that would like to tell us what they think and the problems they faced in Newham with SL.

Success for whom, the tenants who have suffered increased rents, the landlord who has suffered increased costs?  And who has decided it was a success?

I see Manchester Council have done a U-turn on licensing schemes. Once labelled as ‘ineffective’ they’re now considering introducing up to four of these f’ing schemes!! What’s made them change their mind I wonder ??!!!!!!

Sefton Council is looking for the views of residents, landlords, tenants, and agents in their newly proposed Additional and Selective Licensing schemes. The consultation proposes to introduce selective licensing in the area of Bootle and additional licensing in parts of Seaforth, Waterloo, Brighton-le-Sands and Southport.

Personally I think ALL licensing is an absolute farce and just another way to tax good landlords, whilst the rogues go deeper under the radar.

I wonder how many of these ‘rogue landlords’ are actually our local councillors… … …
