I posted this to my Cashflow Board Game Group and though you would also be interetsed.
Last night a Google Search saved my wealth!
I was referencing a new tenant yesterday and he had ticked no to CCJs and Criminal Convictions. He seemed a nice chap drove a nice car owned a nightclub in the town and a fashion shop. I referenced him on landlordreferencing.com and carried out a detailed reference – Just £12 (bargain!) for a credit search and a lifestyle search – this finds out if he’s ever been reported by his Landlord for leaving without paying the rent or for being a great tenant.
I entered his details and he came back with a CCJ. Ok not ideal but people sometimes have them and providing they get satisfied and a guarantor or pay rent in advance they may be ok.
Next step Google
I searched his name and his address and searched both separately.
“A drugs gang £4.8m …of high purity cocaine”
XXX admitted permitting premises to be used for the production of cannabis”
So never underestimate the power of a Google search. No he didn’t get the house.
Be careful out there!
