Given Trump’s predilection to conflict (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/worl…..a-34903577), anything could happen.  We could be housing all the refugees Trump deports!

If the people who have said that if Trump is elected then they would leave America end up in the U.K, then even bigger housing shortage pushing rented sector property value even higher.

Is it time to build bunkers in our gardens? Is there an opportunity here for ‘something else’ to rent out (at lower taxation than residential property??!)

Great news for American citizens, not so for the 11 million illegal ECONOMIC immigrants, most of them from countries South of the USA.

Hopefully Trump will have them all deported.

Then all the unemployed Americans can do those jobs the illegals were doing plus wages won’t be undercut by millions of illegal immigrants

A bit like the UK when we stop immigrants coming to the UK that aren’t needed or wanted.

Trump like us will have controlled borders with appropriate immigration being controlled.

He will operate protectionist trade policies

Something the UK should have done decades ago.

We would still have a coal industry if we had used our coal rather than causing billions of pounds being spent on unemployed miners.

Global warming caused by man  is so much claptrap.

We should be like Trump wants

Dig coal up etc and put tariffs on cheap imported coal and oil etc.

Trump will invigorate the US economy by stopping cheap imports from China.

Money will then circulate with the US rather than disappearing off to foreign countries

If I had the chance I would definitely have voted Trump!!

The sooner globalisation is stopped the better

Stop the neo liberal elite from exploiting their capital and putting local workers out of business.

Let us hope this is just a start to destroy the neo liberal agenda that had been so toxic for your average worker

Jobs need to be repatriated to the UK and slap big tariffs on cheap undercutting goods

Hopefully we are seeing the roll back of globalisation.

An interesting alternative perspective.  With Trumps register of Muslims we have a close parallel with the Nazi register of Jews.  Next a register of retired fire-fighters?

I dont think it will affect the UK rental market – however, the tongue in cheek remark made by Richard Branson’s son is worth a thought!!

Branson Jr posted a mocked-up picture of Donald Trump sitting behind the Oval Office desk at the White House with the slogan: ‘First time in history that a billionaire moves into public housing vacated by a black family’.

Religious affiliations are known by the state and where they live

Such information us detailed in census records which is why the Nazis were able to find all the Jews in Holland.

They just used the census records!

Not being religious I register myself on the census as having no faith, then THEY won’t have any reason to come for me unless the Muslims take over and then come for me to Kill me for apostasy!!

Nothing wrong with records being kept of anyone.

It enables the state to control risks.

How do you think the UK govt was able to identify aliens before the war

Census records!

Paul it is not the list that matters it is the use to which it is put which matters.  Hitler used the list of Jews in an attempt to exterminate them, what will a malign government do with the list of retired fire-fighters?

Folks, I defo voted Trump and acknowledge that there’s a large grain of truth in each of your posts, which makes a 12-grains loaf of truth altogether.  I say panic not – it’s way too early to determine what will happen to the UK market.  I personally – being American, Canuck, and Brit in one, don’t think that my fellow American countrymen will start flocking to the UK just because Donald will be president.  Life ain’t that simplistic – and if a few move, heck, there’ll be others who will move to the States to replace those who move to the UK.  But if both the US and the UK are to tighten up on immigration, then hell, don’t you think that the Americans who’ll wanna move into the UK will have an easy time getting UK visa?  And work permits?  And what about the right to rent with the Right to Rent stuff coming into force next month?  Let’s give ourselves time to observe and then make a more informed prediction after a while, eh?:)

I have no issue with a list of Muslims and where they came from

A risk has to be taken collecting data.

Govt needs such information to manage the country.

How any Govt uses such information is why democracy needs to be maintained.

If it stops and they are after you time to leave the country.

We need detailed information about all citizens and all those who are entering here.

Govt can then better manage the terrorists and those who would do us harm.

As LL we can be significant gatekeepers to grass up all the wrongun that shouldn’t be here.

If I ever find an illegal immigrant tries to rent with me I will be onto the Border Agency ASAP.

These illegals have to rent somewhere.

Nah!

Just a load of lefty neo liberal tree huggers

Their time has gone

Nobody will take any notice of them

We need to keep the US on our side though we are 2nd fiddle

We are just an important part of the orchestra, the US remains the conductor and we had better not forget it!

Time for sensible politics now.

Trump is coming up with some truly excellent policies, especially his robust immigration ones.

Something the UK should emulate ASAP.

Let us hope we can ride on the US coattails especially as Trump has stated we are now at the front if the queue..

Let’s hope that remains the case.
