I’d just like to take a moment to personally thank the most vigilant members of our community who have shown such dedication to Landlord Referencing’s Services over the past year.
But a special thank you goes to the ones (you know who you are!) who have kept us informed, over the last couple of months, about “similar” companies to us popping up around the tenant referencing market.
With the latest one actually being started by a previous Landlord Referencing member(!!) all of us at Landlord Referencing would like to wish them and the rest of these “similar” companies all the best in their future endeavours.
I’m sure you’ve heard about the recent news headline; Lender loses personal details of 1.4m people …?
This further proves that we all need to be a lot more careful with who we provide our personal details to, especially with online transactions.
As a landlord/agent we all know how important the referencing of potential tenants is; for the well-being of our good tenants AND wallets!
So please do your homework on referencing sites before registering to use them, because who knows where your personal data may turn up next?

I haven't uploaded all mine yet; yes I know I'm naughty!!
But life is too short to upload tenant details to numerous referencing sites.
You are my principal one and I might use tentid if I can be bothered.
You have first mover advantage and providing you keep the core referencing free I don't think you will find many LL and LA wishing to migrate to other propositions.
After all you think how long it has taken you to get where you are today.
Competition is going to have the same problem and as you are free why would we wish to go eleswhere
Surely you can't get cheaper than FREE or am I missing something.?
In regards to other companies or letting agents trying to do the same thing as Landlord Referencing I would think they have a long road ahead of them.
I have had a look at a few of them and realised that the people starting them are letting agents in their local area.
And what better way to capture loads and loads of landlord details by taking over the market and beating competitors?
It is a brilliant idea from a letting agents perspective as it’s like the strongest form of indirect touting to capture details.
What I dont understand is that Landlord Referencing is a national site (isn’t it?) so why not just use you?
I would have thought being a letting agent you would just tell everyone about the original site and continually promote it to get them on board.
If you are looking to protect landlords and letting agents and not new lettings business then wouldn’t you join a company that has been going for a couple of years-which already has 1,000’s and 1000’s of members-instead of something that has only just started up?
Especially on a local level-with the migration of tenants from all areas….. ……………….?
Perhaps a hidden agenda ?
Never thought of that one, great way to drum up new business. I am not sure the landlords will be chuffed when their details are used to hawk for new buisness though and I can tell anyone who wishes to start up a new venture, it is very hard work and costs a small fortune .
Thee real reward for us at LandlordReferencing.co.uk is that every day we stop the baddies getting at our members and that is worth its weight in gold. Upload those tenant my friend your bad tenants uploaded are another members protection and the same applies to them and you. If you dont want theirs then give them yours ASAP.
