Wow - Maters and Co seem to have major issues - glad I am not him (or his wife) dealing with all his hang ups and problems.  I have just posted to support poor Maria and her problems with the Justice System and the eviction of tenants and that is why we use this site - not to hear some pumped up self important pillock airing his limited knowledge.  Keep up the good work Paul - this site has stopped me taking many bad tenants.  Thanks. Kiss

I am a little confused by the comments from Maters and Co.

I live in London and have personally never heard of this letting agent and when I searched on the internet earlier I could not find a link to them.

Can someone give me a link to them ?

Incidentally it doesn't look like Companies House has any listing for them either.....Am very confused what this means !

Maters & Co. I wonder how your "few major investors" would view the fact that you are making decisions on their behalf based on personal bias and ill informed opinion rather than sound commercial reasoning?

I have been a landlord for 40 years and I have no connection with this site or its owners other than being a member and VERY strong supporter of the important job that they are doing to protect me and other landlords.  What exactly are you doing to protect your investors and those who live in neighbouring properties?

This site should be recognised far further than it already is across the WWW!

Any landlord colleague I meet who isn't aware of LRS is immediately grateful for the opportunity to not only protect other landlords from what they may have encountered but also; to have the chance to handover the enormous risk of taking on lousy tenants in a safe and professional manner. This chance comes from genuine like minded individuals. ie LRS

Any company feeling threatened just needs to take the time to meet landlords who have been affected.

Is the company in question through this link accredited by a professional landlord association?

Possibly not...

Thanks Jo,

That's why we keep it free to keep us all networking together all we ask in return is to pass the word and send the emails on so others know about us the more off us there are the safer we become "simples"

Hi All,

When Natasha posted this article I thought "Oh Dear" this will get the dark forces attacking us again and unfortunately with one post it did. I was worried that the title would seem a bit boastful at what we are achieving and then I thought actually No! because this is not my site at all, yes I may have funded it and yes it may still need to earn more money to become self sufficient and yes I do work 12 hours a day unpaid (burning martyr lol Laugh) changing it to try and make it better and more friendly so we can achieve our goal...but, this web is not just mine it belongs to every Landlord & Letting agent that joins and contributes to it every day in registering tenants, commenting on the forum to using our sponsored products etc..

The strength of LandlordReferencing.co.uk is not in me or the team turning up at the office every day its strength is in you our members joining, uploading, passing on the word to others and contributing to keep one another safe every day.

So I can say to every member of this web site thank you for joining us and supporting us "Your site is awesome"!.

Paul do you and the Landlord Referencing team never sleep ?  4.30am I am very impressed.

And I must say that this is a very impressive site that has been long overdue in my opinion.

I am off on my local travels shortly and will pop into both Kingsley Estates and Winkworths armed with some of the labels that your very helpful young lady Sammi sent me recently.  Are these two Agents part of your community.  They should be and if they are not then I intend to sing your praises.

I am glad that the negative comments you received from the one rather strange person have not discouraged you.

Keep on the good work......even at 4.30am !!!

I have just read this post in its entirety and it made me chuckle. First of all, to every one except the apparent apparitional (Maters & Co) I was very pleased to see such strong support for a brilliant concept.

If there is any reason and I mean any justified reason as to why someone would not join this site then I would certainly be interested in hearing it ?

Hi Mary

I was considering joining an association like the NLA, RLA or using a letting agent who is registered with ARLA and was wandering do the NLA have a tie in with Landlord Referencing to work together to protect their landlords from rogue tenants.

Regards

York

Hi York That is an excellent question - none of the landlords associations are connected to this site and I will ask NLA why not now that you have raised the issue.

I notice that you are in Birmingham (my home town) do something for me please - don't join anything until you have come to my next landlords meeting.  I will be booking venues across the West Midlands at the end of the week for meetings for the next 12 months. Landlords do not need to be members of NLA to join us we welcome all landlords who want to network, discuss and find out what is happening in the local PRS.  I will be putting all my meetings on this site (nice extra service thank you Paul)

Hi Sharon,

I think you will find after receiving word from a very reliable source that Maters & Co is a lady or actually perhaps I should say a charlatan woman who finds it easier to try and rubbish our Company to get members to join her than spend time doing her job of protecting her Landlords & Agents from bad tenants. What a shameful way to conduct ones business.Frown

I just want to say that I personally have found everyone on this site to be very helpful and think the site is brilliant! I always recommend the site to any other Landlords that I meet and will continue to do so.

I think it's a shame that some people try to influence others with their own negativity!

Keep up the good work peeps we are all behind you!! Laugh

Well done Paul and team, and keep up the great work.  I appreciate the email alerts and information on the site - like other commentators I can only suggest that Maters and Co look elsewhere for their referencing checks.  If he runs such a large portfolio as he says how has he time to endulge in a petty flaming row here?  Not telling the whole truth methinks?
