I have had loads like that over the years. The worst thing is that some people really believe this is the normal way to live. We have had one run not long ago owing over £2k in damage and arrears and now realising she is registered on LRS wants to try and have a deal on payment to get removed. She has offered £35 a month until the debt is cleared can you imagine if we were allowed to charge Wonga rates she wouldn’t even be covering the interest.
I have no intention in taking her off LRS or changing her status until every penny is paid and even then I will tell any new the landlord what happened, maybe then she will realise that she can’t just go around trashing property and owing rent without recourse.
I am fed up with having to provide people with homes and also be their mum and dad, bank, carer, cleaner etc etc;. I f people want nice homes then they can earn the right to have one just like the rest of us.
Our new Lifestyle, credit and Identity check will really close the doors on this type of tenant forever.
