You do it on a room basis , so stick it on spareroom.co.uk.

It is free.

The let for one week seems to be around 2,000  for the whole house.

Hi Liza,

Do you only require someone for those specific weeks or are you looking for a longer tenancy? 6/12 months?

I would be also looking to let the house for a year after the Olympics.

Hi Liza,

Ok well I would recommend talking to Stephen Batterbury at the Guildford Leaders office at the top of the High Street. You can also call him on 01483 455 990. They have many Tenants that are always looking for good quality accomidation and he will be happy to talk to you about how they can help.

Landlords will risk fines of up to £20,000 and a criminal record if they do not get planning permission to let during the Olympics.

Go put it on one of these sites

upad.co.uk

discountlettings.co.uk

makeuremove.co.uk

and numerous others.

Use the moneysavingexpert site by Martin Lewis.

Use LRS if they have any propertis on it though I think these might be via propert118.com.

There are numerous very cheap onlone letting agents where you may manage everything if you wish and therefore keep your costs low.

These online agents advertise on ALL the major web portals that normal agents do but without the costs associated with hight street offices which are necessarily redundant with the advent of the internet.

Thes agents will also carry out additional services for you but you will have to pay extra but they are still a lot cheaper than normal LA.

Of course doing things yourself may not be appropriate so you will need a traditional LA.

Remember though even if you use an agent that you insist you will  hold the deposut monies in the mydeposits scheme which you have to register for and  also obtain RGI on the tenant or guarantor for £99.00 for a year.

The LA schemes are invariably nowhere near as good and charge more.
