As a fellow landlord, it saddens me that some 'bad apple' landlords out there are giving us all a bad name.

I dont think you can refer to these people as either Landlords or Letting Agents they are crooks and con persons plain and simple.
I wish they would stop referring to them as if all Landlords and Letting Agents are like these people just because they hide behind that veil to perpetrate their crimes.
I am sensitive about these programmes portraying our profession like this because they make you feel that if you put Landlord or Letting Agent into the thesaurus it would come up with con-artist, cheat, liar etc and that is very very unfair.
TV programmes that carry out these documentaries need to be careful that they don't start tarring all professions with the image given by the bad guys that plague it.
Please when you finish your programme say " This landlord/letting agent is a con man within this industry but is not a true reflection on the landlords and letting agents that do a fantastic job year in and year out giving people good homes in the UK!". That way you get your message out but are fair to the millions that do a good job every year.

Frustrates me as it gives the industry a bad name, however, if we all do the right job from day one we can only look brilliant in comparison!

Totally agree Paul, perhaps you should add these comments tothe Channel 5 website under the listing, so they know professional organisatiosn such as yours do exist and condem these crooks!

Cant see that happening but would be nice, I have tried to get the message over so that we can all understand the 3 categories that tenants and landlords seem to fall into.
Good means that they know what they are obliged to do within the contact of tenure and both do it..
Bad usually means that they don't know what to do, or do it wrong because they don't know what to do and end up being negligent.
Rogue just means when either Landlord Agent or Tenant go out to purposely cheat, steal, deceive one another for gain.
The Good are great and we are trying to help to educate the bad but the rogue is why we are growing at such a fast rate. A rogue Landlord and Letting Agent can be held criminally libel for their actions against a Tenant whereby a rogue tenant cannot face criminal prosecution and we need to rely on a useless over burdened County Court system which we all know is implausible in retrieving anything and is usually a waste of time and money.

This bastard gave me a job as he also own a magazine called the business book. I left my current job as he was offering me a lot more money to go out and sell advertising for it. The day I was due to join I was told the magazine didn't exist and Tony was nowhere to be seen. I had to phone up the place where he was and they told me he wasn't there and that the Business Book never existed http://www.thebusinessbook.co.uk I was devastated and couldn't go back to my old job as they had already filled the place. This guy seriously needs a big dose of Karma!!!

Seriously do not know how scum like this can sleep at night and hopefully one day they will get their just deserts. Sorry to hear that you were so badly duped by person and hope you are now back in work again.
