The Tenant Fee Ban

The Tenant Fee Ban

The Tenant Fee Ban is planned to be introduced in England in Spring next year to stop Landlords and Agents charging Tenants fees for referencing. Under the new regime, tenants will only be charged for rent, deposit and contractual default penalties.

Once this becomes law, tenancy deposits will be legally limited to a total of six weeks rent, and holding deposits will not be allowed to exceed one weeks rent.  It is anticipated that the ban will push up rent prices, as landlords seek to recoup costs.

We offer FREE referencing for Landlords within Rent Guarantee Insurance Packages. This insurance will ALSO protect against future expenses.
