Referencing non-UK students on time limited visas / Landlord information request
How do I reference a non-uk student on a time limited visa?
It can be a challenging task trying to meet the Right to Rent checks and Immigration Act 2014 Code of Practice if you deal with large numbers of overseas students with time limited visas, months in advance of the start of the tenancy.
If your tenant is only allowed to stay in the UK for a limited time, you need to do the Right to Rent check in the 28 days before the start of the tenancy.
For accommodation that’s been arranged months in advance for students visiting on a time limited visa Right to Rent checks must still be carried out and documented within the 28 days before the start of the tenancy, even if this means repeating a Right to Rent check carried out during the initial application.
Tenant Referencing UK proudly offer Identity Document Verification within our referencing. So don’t get caught out and fined £3000 for unknowingly housing an illegal immigrant! Click here for full information and prices.
Is this landlord a member on your system, and does he fail everyone?
Our job at Tenant Referencing UK is to monitor the data that comes through very closely, process it and offer the personal touch, yet still remain ICO compliant.
At the end of the day the landlord is our customer, and you (the tenant) are the landlords customer; therefore if you have any queries about your application you must take this up with your landlord.
