Court injunction issued against nightmare tenant in the North West
A nightmare tenant has received a five-year County Court injunction after causing utter misery for their neighbours in a Crewe cul-de-sac.
Wulvern Housing secured the injunction for threatening, violent and abusive behaviour, drug and alcohol misuse, noise nuisance and damage to property in Eadie Grove.
This behaviour had a huge impact on residents living in the small cul-de-sac, and home provider Wulvern is over-the-moon with the result after its Neighbourhood Team worked hard to support those affected whilst bringing an end to the distressing behaviour caused by the female tenant and her visitors.
Kenny Macdonald, Wulvern’s neighbourhood worker, said: “This is great news for everyone living in Eadie Grove.
“Most injunctions are granted for one or two years, so to be granted the injunction for five years is unprecedented for us.
“Due to the severity of the tenant’s behaviour and the impact it was having on the local community, it was necessary to achieve a long-term resolution and ensure the well-being of residents.
“The injunction also includes exclusions against four visitors who were involved in the disturbances at this address.”
Wulvern say their message is clear and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.
Kenny added: “All parties agreed to the injunction, including the tenant, should she fail to keep to the conditions of the injunction, she could be sentenced to up to three years’ imprisonment.
“Tenants are not only responsible for their own behaviour, but also that of everyone who lives in, or visits, their home.
“We take all reports of anti-social behaviour very seriously and take action to ensure a peaceful neighbourhood where people want to live and stay.”
And this is why a credit reference isn’t always enough.
It is a fact that no matter how nice our new home is, if we have a dreadful neighbour it can spoil everything we strive for in trying to achieve a comfortable and quiet life for ourselves and our family.
- Quite often we get asked by tenants “what’s in it for us to be added to a data base that other landlords can reference one another about our lifestyles?” The answer is very simply; safety, security, a decent standard of living, a better environment and neighbourhood for you and your family.
Tenant Histories from Tenant Referencing UK are not solely about protecting landlords from losing rent or stopping the damage to their property, they are about making sure their good tenants are safe and comfortable because, believe us, there is no money or security for a landlord who keeps losing good tenants just because a bad one moves in or lives next door.
At LandlordReferencing.co.uk you must recognise that we are not like the other referencing websites who give out a tenants details ‘willy-nilly’. Nothing but nothing about a tenant’s sensitive personal identification information ever gets given out to anyone else, the only thing that is given out is their last landlord or agent – which keeps the good tenants safe and the bad tenants out.
