The Gold Rush Effect

16/05/2012 Landlord News lrs_keeper

Every day we see more and more small internet websites on a mission to become the next Facebook; and at Landlord Referencing we liken this to the major gold rushes that took place in the 19th century in Australia, Brazil, Canada, South Africa, and the United States.

Since the success of Facebook & Google 1000′s of companies are now realising that there is money to be made by taking their business to the next level of online advertising; as the old saying goes “There’s Gold in Them Thar Hills!”. This mirrors the gold rush, whereby 1000′s went out to buy the gold pans and shovels in the hope of striking it lucky.

Our modern day web designers are the equivalent of these 19th century tool stores; both praying on the hope of their customers and unfortunately charging 3 times the price!
And just like the gold rush very few actually managed to get rich off the back of it.

So, what is the key to a successful internet business?

Landlord Referencing has found that if you set up an internet business with the primary intention of making money you will probably fail. This is because the public don’t favour the hard sell; they want a company that has a purpose and truly cares about them. We have been in business for 2 years now, with the primary intention of helping landlords and letting agents find decent, rent paying tenants and their existing tenants to be able to achieve a comfortable and quiet life for themselves and their families via good neighbours.

Landlord Referencing will continue to look after the needs of the private rented sector for as long as there are rogue tenants out there and our primary purpose will always be to protect and serve the UK landlord and letting agent community, rather than cash in on their hope and good will.

When choosing a company would you be more likely to choose a Corporate entity or an Independent entity?
