I have uploaded my tenants and hope that no one has to ever suffer what I did again these are nightmare tenants.
The property was a new build with Immaculate decoration and new carpets throughout.
They left the house in a filthy state. Doors had to be replaced, it had to be redecorated throughout and the carpets renewed. the garden was left like a scrap yard with rubbish heaped up everywhere. I did all the work myself to keep the costs down.
Although I legally retained the £675 deposit, this did not go anywhere near covering my Costs.
Because of the persistent arrears, I was paid directly from East Lindsey District Council. Both tenants were on benefits, when the tenants were instructed to leave the premises they duped the council by telling them they had moved to another address weeks before they actually did – in the process, defrauding me of £800.
This was recovered and paid back to me by ELDC who launched a fraud investigation against them; I took them to court over the outstanding costs and also instigated the bailiffs to try to recover some of the debt.
I got nowhere because they had nothing of value and the court cannot legally put an attachment against benefit payments, even though they found in my favour at the court hearing.
I am, therefore, further out of pocket by the court costs incurred, truly tenants from hell!
I just hope that now I am a member of LRS we can stop this madness and stop this sort of behaviour happening to decent people as if it was an exceptable practise in our society, just because we own property and want to make a honest living.
